About Me

Dr. Ivelisse Barreiro Rosado is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in South Florida with extensive clinical experience across major medical centers in Miami, FL; Chicago, IL; and Denver, CO.  Following her clinical work across prominent medical centers and outpatient clinics in Miami, FL including Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital, and the Oliver-Pyatt Center; she completed an APA-Accredited Internship in Health Psychology at Denver Health Medical Center and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Medical Rehabilitation at Edward Hines Jr., Veterans Administration Hospital.  

With specialized training in Health Psychology, Dr. Barreiro Rosado highly values a holistic approach by understanding the relationship between patients’ mental and physical problems. As such, she appreciates the benefits of interdisciplinary care in improving patients' overall health. She is particularly passionate about working with the medically-compromised population to facilitate patients and family members' adjustment and coping to various chronic medical illness such as: Cerebrovascular Accident, Congestive Heart Failure, Diabetes Mellitus, Cancer, Amputation, Vision Loss, Traumatic Brain Injury, Miscarriage, Infertility Issues, Multiple Sclerosis, and Spinal Cord Injury among others.

Dr. Barreiro Rosado has worked with several patient populations including medically-compromised; elders; veterans; and racial, ethnic, and sexual minorities presenting with a wide-range of psychological and physical problems. Psychological services are tailored to patients' socioeconomic, educational, and cultural background in order to meet their goals for treatment.  With Spanish as her native language, she has provided psychotherapy and psychological evaluation services to Spanish-speaking patients across the various states she has practiced.  She is committed to providing empirically validated treatment tailored to each of her patients' needs resulting in positive inner growth.
